The other day, when I was going down to Isitan supermarket to pick up milk and bread, I noticed a crowd starting to form around the adidas store. After looking in, I see the store is full of Star Wars stormtroopers , Imperial Officers and, as I was walking away Darth Vader even showed up.

I have no idea why all these guys were there, but it was funny to see 3 stormtroopers dancing to the music pumping out of the CD shop next door. Others were trying on bomber jackets.....strange.

So Happy to See Santa!

Hard Rock Cafe Manila

Last time I was in Manila, I went down for dinner and drinks to the Hard Rock Cafe. Big fatty American meals and a bit of live music is always good when traveling for work (Fried Chicken sitting on a bed of Mac & Cheese). Even better when the band plays all 80's covers, and even the Aussie version of Funky Town. :-)

Billy's 80th

Unfortunatly, we were unable to get back for Pop's 80th, back in April. I hear it was a great night, hopefully the family will send me some pics. Mum sent me the video that was shown on the night.

Singapore Races

Yesterday, I was luck enough to get an invite to the Races at Singapore as the guest of one of the owners of Switchblade. The area we were sitting had a great view of the track, and most importantly....it was Air Conditioned! A real plus when you have to suit up to get in.

Liam's Love of Water Features

For the past few weeks, Liam has developed a bit of a fascination with fountains and pools. He gives them names like 'Grey Drink' and 'Tiny Drink'. Today Nellie, Liam and I were checking out the Orchard Central complex, and you can see here, what Liam thought of the fountains there.

In Manila Again

On Wednesday, I left for Manila for work again. I decided to use some of my accrued points to upgrade to business class. Apart from the lounge at Changi, and the cabin space, the real bonus is that when you get to the Philippines, you are first off the plane. This is brilliant after you go through immigration and look back at the queue :)

Lost in translation

I saw this shade umbrella above a street vendor yesterday. Funny for some, not sure what it really refers to though.

Waiting for the bus

The Singapore public transport system is brilliant. We have always used the MRT tube system, but now we are starting to also use the bus network. It's great to grab the bus from the end of the street to go to 'Jones the Grocer' for breakfast!

It's always annoying when a program you are working on crashes. Luckily I have never had one so public. Here is one from the screen out the front of the new ION Orchard building.

Din tai fung

One of our favourite places to eat is a place on Orchard road called 'Din Tai Fung'. They have a restaurant in the Paragon (the best one) and also in the Wisma building. 

It's a safe bet to say that this is Liam's favourite place for dinner.
